ELEVENTH EDITION OF LA MARTINIERE GIRLS’ MODEL UNITED NATIONS UNVEILS

Lucknow: On 3rd July, 2026 La Martiniere Girls’ College unveiled the Eleventh Edition of the La Martiniere Girls’ Model United Nations (LMGMUN). The event garnered over 340 participants from 35 schools. With 10+ outstation schools like Oasis Dehradun, Bishop Cotton Bangalore, Tagore International and 15+ local schools such as CMS Cambridge, La Martiniere College and Loreto Convent, the day began with immense enthusiasm.

The opening ceremony commenced with Principal Ashrita Dass,  Ambali, the MUN Coordinator and the heads of departments taking to the stage as they lit the lamp to symbolize the invocation of light and knowledge.

Lieutenant Colonel Arnavaz Kersi Daruwalla, the first Parsi Zoroastrian woman to join the Indian Army, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. A recipient of a Commendation Card and a former officer with the Special Frontier Force, she urged delegates to recognise both the privilege and responsibility of participating in LMGMUN.

Following her address, Lady Principal  Ashrita Dass encouraged delegates to become the changemakers the world needs. As the ceremony ended, Shreyasi Jha, the Secretary-General of the conference, finally declared LMGMUN 2026 open.

The first day of the conference brimmed with passion as the 9 committees- United Nations General Assembly, United Nations Human Rights Council, United Nations Secretariat, United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs and Treaty of Tordesillas, discoursed on important agendas ranging from organized crime to cultural genocide. The Joint Crisis Committee, Constant Crisis Committee along with the District Court of Jerusalem and United Nations Historic Security Council saw electrifying portfolios and continuous debates.

The day concluded on a high note as delegates retired into the evening, thrilled for the two days ahead, ready to further ignite the spark of ambition
